8th June - Los Angeles -> Death Valley Junction

Leaving LA though the mountains to the north on route 2 we climbed to 7018 feet before descending back to the plains to buy a proper hat. Fully head ready we press on to Death Valley. In Trona we stop for lunch in the only restaurant, not even a McDonalds in this salt mine town. Entering Death Valley we stopped in Ballarat ghost town population 1 caretaker and 1 wild buro. Over the mountains and into the desert, lord it's hot. It's so hot I'll never say anything else is hot ever again.
